WILLIAM SMITH was born in Stafford County, Virginia in 1742, the son of HENRY & SARAH CROSBY SMITH. WILLIAM SMITH married JOICE HUMPHREY. WILIAM SMITH served in the Revolutionary war. WILLIAM & JOICE HUMPHREY SMITH arrived in Montgomery County, Kentucky in 1790. Their children were GEORGE, DANIEL, WILLIAM, HENRY, & ENOCH born 1772 in Virginia and died in Clark County, Kentucky. JOICE HUMPHREY SMITH died in 1774. WILLIAM SMITH married MARY ELEANOR HALLEY and their children were SARAH ELIZABETH, MARY, ANN, JOHN, ROBERT THOMPSON, LYDIA, AND ELKANNAH SMITH.WILLIAM & JOICE HUMPHREY SMITH probably died in Montgomery County, Kentucky.
