Gary Wilson's email about 4 August 2004
“As to dating of the Cashore descendent chart the only clue that I can find is on the last page in where it shows that 'John goes to the University of B.C.'. I believe that he probably started to college in 1954 and so I think that it was written 1954-1964 time frame.”

You'll find Cashore, RINN/RYND*** in Pettigo/Pettigoe Ireland. In the FHL catalog Pettigo is shown as being in or a part of both Co. Fermanagh and Co. Donegal.
[FHL July 2011] Ireland, Fermanagh, Drumkeeran, Pettigoe [no records listed]; Ireland, Donegal, Templecarn, Pettigoe:]
[Methodism in the Pettigo area; author: McElderry, Neville
publications: [Ireland : Neville McElderry], c1991; 104 p., book 941.68 K2
The town of Pettigoe lies in two counties: Donegal and Fermanagh. This small book gives the history of the Pettigoe Methodist Circuit, which covered several townlands in County Fermanagh, as well as the town of Pettigoe. The main church building was located in the townland of Tullyhommon, Drumkeeran Parish, (which extended into the town of Pettigoe), and was called Pettigoe Church. Meetings were also held in the townlands of Belleek, Letter, Tullychurry, Whealt, Montiagh, and Rushindoo. In 1976 Pettigo Circuit was united with Irvinestown Circuit,…Pettigo is a variant spelling, more commonly used today.]

census- Heritage Quest census index- checked for Sidney/Sydney, in New York City; film 553, only possible: [also Sidney Rissaw in Ancestry index]
in index Rissaw- in census Kissaw [sic]; 16th ward, district two, p 305 [stamped] enumerated Sept 12 - to be as of June first, line 11; living in house of a merchant- Oakey:
Sidney Kissaw, 26, male [sic], b Ireland
Comment: MALE BUT possible match based on: Sound of surname, b Ireland; age agrees well with 1860 census = 37. Could also be a brother.

HOWEVER, this may still be/ I BELIEVE probably is my Sidney:
The following although entitled "1870 census" MAY account for Sidney being listed as a male. (I do not know which filming Heritage Quest used- the FHL library filming of the original or the NARA copy.)

===============================================================
THE 1870 FEDERAL CENSUS FOR NEW YORK CITY. by Charles Sullivan, 13 July 2001
===============================================================
...The pages on which the census-takers recorded information for each household are known as Population Schedules. For 1870 ***and earlier censuses***, the original population schedules were hand-copied - two transcriptions being made under
supervision of the Census Marshal. The distribution of these in 1870 was as follows: 1. Transcription - US Census Bureau. 2. Transcription - NY Secretary of State. 3. Original - New York County Clerk.
... [I do NOT know if the same copying pattern was done for the 1850 census.]
The Census Bureau copies have since been turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Washington DC and microfilmed by them.
The New York Secretary of State copy apparently perished in the 1911 fire at the State Capitol building which destroyed most of the NY State Library.
The original at the New York County Clerk's Office has survived - at least most of it - and has been microfilmed by the Family History Library. Comparison of the NARA transcription with the NY County Clerk original shows a not-insignificant number of transcription errors. From the handwriting, it does not appear that the original and transcription were written by the same individual, at least in most of New York City.
