The furthest I've been able to trace my Rice family back is to my 2x great great grandfather James Robert Rice. He was born about 1860 in Kentucky and died sometime after 1918 (possibly in Mississippi). According to family lore, James was the son of John Breckinridge, and he got his name through Breckinridge's friend, Senator Henry Rice, after he sold his slaves to Rice. It is true that Breckinridge sold his slaves to Rice, but I don't know if any of that was apart of my family's history. Although my great grandfather Clarence Rice does look a lot like Breckinridge, I haven't been able to find any cousin connects on Ancestry.com with any of Breckinridge's or Rice's descendants, so I'm starting to doubt the story. If anybody here is a descendant from the Breckinridge or Rice family that I'm referring to please comment on this or message me! I would like to confirm this story by using DNA test and prove if this story is fact or fiction!
I attached a photo a photo my great grandfather Clarence Rice (and his son James) and also John Breckinridge, perhaps you can see the resemblance. I also attached a photo of Henry Rice, but I don't really see as much resemblance between Henry and Clarence.
