I am looking for more details on my gg grandfather Donald MacDonald. His death certificate states he was born in Williamstown and his father was Malcolm MaxDonald. As a young man he left a williamstown to seek his fortune in the Californian Gold fields and then sailed to Australia where he worked in the gold fields, and then in the timber industry. His obituary states that his family was connected with the Hudson Valley Company in Williamstown. Would love to hear from anyone who can assist me.
