There are a pair of brother outlaws about the time of Jesse James in Wayne, Reynolds, Iron Co, MO named Henry and Lewis Orrick. They are sons of Lewis Orrick born 1815. I research Orrick genealogy.
After a murder in 1888 near Gads Hill, Lewis and older brother Henry Orrick were hunted down by the law. Lewis was killed by a possee hiding in a haystack. Henry was captured eventually and after a lot of legal stuff was sentenced to hang but broke out never to be seen again.
Henry Orrick went somewhere. A bizarre thought I had was that maybe Henry later in life said he was Jesse James. Again, that's just a wild thought. I have DNA from this line too, so if we ever find a male line from a strange person of that era, I could test for it.
