Looking for any information on arrival in the county or parents/siblings of a Martin L. Davis (born 1829 in NY) who married a Mary E. Smalley 21 Aug 1856 in Washtenaw County. By 1864 he had moved to Livingston Co. where his occupation was listed as a retired merchant on the 1870 Livingston county census. His parents were born in New York and Mary's parents were both born in Michigan. The internet yielded a Martin Davis on the 1830 Census for Washtenaw with a son listed under 5 yrs, but with only household heads named, I cannot be sure this would be the right family. I also have not been able to find an 1860 census for Washtenaw on the internet to check there. Any leads would be appreciated.
