I am looking for the obituary of my great grandfather, Fred James Cook, who died in Cypress, Orange County, California, on 23 Feb 1985.

He was born 18 Sept 1900, the son of German immigrants to Virginia, Frederick Koch and Margaretta "Maggie" Schockert. He married my great grandmother Sara Lois Joynes in Virginia and had my grandfather (b1926), but they ended up getting a divorce and he moved across the country. In one of those "classic" genealogical conundrums, it was a "dark and hideously unspeakable" hidden secret in my family for well over 70 years, till my grandfather confessed to my dad and I the facts about his true father when he was near on his deathbed.

I just want to learn more about the guy, and I figure an obituary would help. Did he remarry? What did he do with his life? If he had any other kids, an obituary would help me contact them so I could get a picture or two of the man. Anyway, I am willing to pay 20-30 dollars via paypal for a scanned copy of the obituary. I figure its easier than an inter-library loan across the continent to Virgina where I live lol.
