The CLIFTONs settled in Owen Co back in 1803, when it was still Scott Co., on Eagle Creek in the Lusby Mill area. This line ties into the HOLBROOK, COBB, HAMMON (my ggrandmother is a desendent of John Hammon), PRATHER, KIGHTLY, ALEXANDER etc. We are writing a book on the CLIFTON family & including all female direct lines. This family is so much a part of the early Owen Co history we would love to help you any way we can to find your roots. I have a cousin Sollie & Glenna Clifton that still live in Owen Co & she does research at the court house for us.
