Hi,
I have found 2 ancestors (unmarried sisters) in the 1940 Census living on 42nd St. in Queens but have been unable to find anything after that. I have checked the Fullton History site with no luck and due to the fact that their names are so common (Mary and Alice Smith) and their dates of birth are all over the place in other census' I could not zero in on them on the IGG site.
Mary was born btwn 1876 and 1895 in Staten Island and sometimes used the middle initial C. She was a dressmaker.
Alice was born btwn 1895 and 1900 in Staten Island. She was a milliner.
It is very likely that they were Catholic.
Can anyone suggest another source where I might find some info?
Thanks,
Pat
