Hiram was a blacksmith in the 1850 census of Gallia County Ohio. Just married to a Frances Gooch daughter of James Gooch and Elizabeth Poindexter. In subsequent censuses (moved from Raccoon TWP to Springfield TWP to Huntington TWP)he was a farmer evidently very successful or was left $ during 1850&1860 as his valuation of land & belongings shot up. He died 1875 leaving a will.
