I am looking to identify airplanes that are in pictures with my grandfather when he served in WWII. I have attached the pictures.
My grandfather, Bernard J Hurley, served as a Corporal in the 895th Chemical Company of the U.S. Army. He traveled to Texas, Missouri, Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Ie Shima (Ie Jima), Japan.
If anyone can identify these aircraft - or can tell me where I can find someone who can identify them - please message me.
Thank you.
*Follow up: The second one has been identified as a Ki-49 left in the Philippines in early 1945. (The cross marking composed of four 7s was used by the Imperial Japanese Army's 74th Sentai (flight squadron).)
