Mrs. Mary E. Morse, aged 74 years died Saturday morning last at 9 o'clock at Piney Grove, Maryland from paralysis. Mrs. Morse was twice married. Her first husband was Mr. John Douglas, who died 35 years ago and her second husband was Mr. James Morse, of Piney Creek who survives with the following children to her first husband: Mrs. Amanda Clites, Mrs. Emma Ott and Miss Fannie Douglas, all of Pittsburgh, Eliza M., Everett and Marshall Douglas, of Pittsburgh and Charles in France. One son, Earl, was killed on the railroad a few months ago from which shock she never recovered. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. McFarland at the Union Grove Church and burial was made in the cemetery adjoining. Many friends came to pay tribute to her memory. She was ready to lend a willing and helping hand to every undertaking in the community and was well known by everybody.
