Searching for information of Emmaliza SHADOWEN, (or Eliza CHAUDOIN). I have information she married Bennett POWERS, 8 April 1849 (probably in KY or TN). Her father was shown as Henry CHAUDOIN of Independence County, Arkansas. I believe Henry to be the son of Francis CHAUDOIN, born 1758 in VA. Henry was born 1782, in VA. Many of the VA CHAUDOINs migrated to Green County, KY between 1790 and 1820. One brother, William eventually settled in Pulaski County, KY and was the patirarch of a large population of SHADOWENs. Henry married Nancy PURVIS in Pulaski County, KY 1826. Henry died 1849 in Crittenden County, KY. A daughter of Emmaliza and Bennett POWERS, Precilla POWERS married James Franklin OAKS 1871 in Lincoln County, KY.
