Was John Jeter from the Orkney Islands in Scotland or not? I do not believe this is a Scottish Family. Perhaps Huguenot or Walloon from France, tthen to England and to the US...
I find a ton of Jeters in England, but few if any in Scotland, yet the Jeter Mosaic says John was born in Scotland. Where is this documentation?Record? Anything?

I have a John Jeter that was born in Layslotle England in 1544, Father of Edmund born 1644M. Francis Justice,
Son of Edmund is Robert Jeter 1628 Lay. Eng m. Anne Herward ( have her genealogy) solid English stock, her family were Baconians..
And the Immigrant John Jeter 1683 I have no birth place, but he married a Jane in England according to the A2A British Archives.

Where does Scotland come in? Was he born on a jaunt into Scotland by his parents?? (joking folks... Genealogy will give you ulcers if you don't have some humor!)
