LAMB, Charles A. (Chuck), Sr. - Of Flint, age 73, was called from his home on earth to his mansion in Heaven to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 26, 1997, surrounded by his beloved wife and children, who love him dearly. Funeral service will be held at 2PM Thursday, May 29, 1997 at Heritage Baptist Church, 5199 East Hill Road in Grand Blanc, Reverend Doyle Lamb and Reverend Carl Petty officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to Heritage Baptist Church Building Fund, 5199 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI or Alcoholics for Christ (South Baptist Church, 4091 VanSlyke Road, Flint, MI). Visitation 6-9PM Tuesday and 1-9PM Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Lamb will be at the church from 1PM until time of the service on Thursday. He was born in Knoble, Arkansas on July 8, 1923. He served in the Conservation Corps during World War II. Mr. Lamb retired from the Genesee County Road Commission in 1989. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. Chuck accomplished many great things here on earth, but living his life for the Lord, his testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, and knowing that his wife, children and grandchildren had come to know the Lord and accept Him as their personal Savior brought him his greatest joy. Surviving are his beloved bride of 52 years, Keatha Temple Lamb; daughters, Sharlee Jeanne (J. Michael) Hogle, Sr., Sharon Kay (James) Chaney, Sarah Elizabeth (Scott) Maser; son, Charles A. (Valerie) Lamb, Jr.; grandchildren, J. Michael Hogle, Jr., Grant (Lori) Hogle, Jodi Lamb, Terry L. Chaney, Jonathon L. Lamb and Mariah K. Maser; brother, Larry Michael (Grada) Lamb; sisters, Verneal (Robert) Winnell, Virginia Cross, Billie Jo (Alan) Smith; uncle, Reverend John Elvis Lamb; sister-in-law, Maxine Temple; brother-in-law, John Temple. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Ambrose and Jewell Lamb; mother and step-father, Lois and Elvis Holcomb; brothers, Waylen and Harold Lamb; dearly loved mother and father-in-law, Laney and Logan Temple and special cousin, Bennie H. Thompson. Joshua 24:15 Choose you this day whom ye will serve.....but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
