My grandmother was Ruby Allen, born in Clinton County, IL in 1886. Her grandparents were Nancy Burnside and Lewis Allen. Looking for record of marriage, as well as trying to identify the next generation back.

It seems that Nancy Burnside married William McMillian or McMillen in 1828, marrying Lewis Allen about 1837. There was a John McMillen living with Catherine and son, John Burnside, according to the 1860 census, possible Nancy's son? He would have been born abt 1836/7.

My grandmother said that Lewis Allen was born in what is now Clinton County in 1816. Nancy Burnside was born in Ireland in 1813, according to census data for 1850 and 1860.
