Would like to know whether there are any online indexes/information about members of the Victorian Police Force. I am looking for my gg grandfather Robert R McKnight born in c1826 (conflicting info. about place of birth - either County Down or Monaghan). He apparently came from the Irish Constabulary to the Victorian Police Force and then on to the New Zealand Police Force in Dunedin and then Christchurch. I have found a Constable Robert M'Knight in Dunedin in March 1863 so his time in Victoria would be prior to this. Any help much appreciated.
