Hi all!! Gosh, I thot this board sent an email to me when there were postings here!! See what I miss if I'm not careful!! So glad to see more Traaen action!! Olav, you found this!! Joan, so glad to meet you!! We are cousins (how many times removed, not sure! but cousins!) Joan, your grandpa Ole and my grandpa Jens were brothers! I have been studying our Traaen family for the past year and a half. Not sure of all the ties yet, and Olav has been looking for us too, but I do have a LOT more than when I started! Your grandpa Ole , had several brothers and sisters. And a half brother- John and half sister-Emma Ingeborg. His full brothers were, my grandpa Jens, Carl, and Rueben. Full sisters were Gertrude (married Pete Johnson) and Julia, (married Ole Johnson). Oddly enough, Emma married Ole Johnson's brother, Oluf Johnson, also known as Ole Johnson. Whew! Now, the new news is this, I found out your grandpa's dad (your great grandpa) Ole Kittilsen Traaen, whom was born in Norway , and has been very difficult to trace, had at least 2 brothers that I have found for sure. One was Kittil Kittilsen (went by Kittilsen), whom married Maret Johnson (again the SAME Johnson family), and lived in Parkland , Wn. Kittil was the youngest, born in 1864. Another brother, Halvor, born in 1858, that lived in LaCrosse, Washington. He married twice, and I have yet to discover the wives families. We do have the entire lineage of Ole K. Traaen's wife, Bereth Anna Jensen Aasen Orson, whew , that is a mouthful too. Anyhow, I will email you to your address too!! By the way, I knew your brother Randy, but you must have been a little younger. I can just barely remember a sister. I was born in '55 graduated in '73. fellow - Cheweliter, Kay

Ole Johnson's grandson lives close to me, about 10 miles away at Spangle Washington. His dad was Walt Johnson. Walt also has 3 Other sons of which 2 live around the Spokane area. I see Gary Johnson fairly often.(his grandmother was Julia) Gary's mother, Edie Johnson might know quite a bit, I'm sure she sees Mable all the time , since she also lives in Kennewick, Washington. I also thought this message board was supposed to notify as to new messages! Guess we just have to keep checking.
