Looking for any information on the five McGregor boys who went from Pictou to Inverness. I believe their names were John, Duncan, Malcolm, James and Donald; they were the sons of Gregor McGregor and Isabell McDonald. They would have been born between 1769 and 1790. One of their descendents was a pastor in Amherst -- Reverend Donald MacGregor.

Thank you.

Hi, I don't think there was one in Gregor & Isabella's immediate family. Gregor was a soldier who fought in the American Revolution and received a land grant originally in Merigomish, NS. He was the maternal uncle of John Dewar whose wife, Rebecca McDonald, was a sister to Gregor's wife, Isabella Morris McDonald. Gregor and his family moved to Cape Breton in the early 1800's. I believe that one of his sons, Donald who moved to Ontario, had a son named Lauchlin though there may be others as well in the family.
