My Great Grandfather's name is Francisco Garza whose wife was San Juanita. They had: Paulita, Ysabel, J.M., J. de Dios, Isidro and Remigia. In 1900, Francisco had just moved to Karnes County, Precinct 6. He had been there for two months when the Census was taken. Sometine after, they lived in Floresville, Texas. There was a big flood coming, the family got in their wagon to go to higher ground. The current of water in creek or river they tried to cross was too strong and swept the wagon away, dumping everyone out. My Grandfather Francisco was able to save his sister Remigia by grabbing her hair and pulling her out to safety. As the story goes, his other sister was later found drowned, still holding on to her baby. No one else survived. When he and his sister returned to the farm after the flood waters subsided, the farm was left untouched. The rising flood waters stayed a few feet away from their home. Even the livestock survived.

My grandfather's name was Francisco Garza (he had his name changed to avoid the war-which war I don't know). He was born in Floresevill, Texas in 1892. My Grandmother's name was Modesta Ayala. Francisco and Modesta's children were Roberto Garza, Juanita Garza, Narcedalia Garza and Natalia Garza.

Modesta's father's name was Guadalupe Ayala and his wife's name was Paulina Salazar.
