I'm looking for information on Reuben Thomas Nichols born 10 Dec 1808 (or 1807) in St. Johnsville and his son, Reuben Thomas Nichols (Thomas) born 03 Apr 1829 in Pennsylvania (moved back to NY shortly after). I do not know who Reuben's parents were (possibly a Jacob and Elizabeth) or who Thomas's mother was. Reuben became a member of the Strangite Mormons, eventually settling and dying in Michigan. Thomas married first Lovina Harriet Richtmeyer, then (after Harriet's death in Palatine) Maria Clock, both in Fort Plain. They eventually moved to Wisconsin, enlisted in the Union army and drowned on the Mississippi during the Civil War. Any information on this family (or if anyone knows who I can contact for more information) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
