Barbary (Barbara) Moats and Susanna Moats, daughters of Henry and Elizabeth Moats married two Lea men on the same day in Knox County, TN. Barbary to William Lea and Susanna to Purmit Lea on 28 Nov 1817. William and Barbary later got a land grant and lived in Morgan Co, TN until their death. Susanna and Purmit spent most of their life in Knox County, TN. I would love to know if the Lea men are connected as I can't seem to find any information on William Lea's parents.

Henry Moats married Elizabeth Civy Sevy and moved to Greene County, TN around 1800. One interesting record appears in the land records of Shenandoah Co. VA dated 15 Sept. 1803. It says that Margaret Neice of Greene Co. Tennessee appoints her trusty friend George Easterly as her attorney to recover land from her husbands Wolrick Neice deceased estate ...Joh. Ulrich Nees married Anna Margaret Wacker dau of John at Indianfield Lutheran Church in 1775. I believe Ulrich Neese died in Shenandoah Co. VA about 1796. John Wocker the father of Margaret died in Shenandoah Co. VA in 1799.
