I'm researching the Bobart family from Oxfordshire. The Bobarts are descended from Jacob Bobart, a German who was the Keeper of the Physic Garden at Oxford University in the 1600s. His sons Jacob and Tilleman were also gardeners at Oxford, Blenheim and other estates. Some of their descendants lived at Woodstock or New Woodstock.
I know that somewhere along the line the name Hodgkinson came into the family, and in each generation there seems to be at least one Tilleman, and a Hodgkinson Bobart. I'm descended from Rev Henry Hodgkinson Bobart, who studied at Oxford and came to Australia in the 1830s. His father Tilleman Hodgkinson Bobart, was a coachman who became Bedel of Law at Oxford after an accident. I know that Rev Henry is descended from Jacob the Elder, but I can't find any records to link the generations between the 18th and 19th centuries.
