I am looking for the roots of Minnie A. Long Austin. She was born in1884 NB My gm says she was from Richibucto. Minnie married Leonard Eldon Austin (from Chipman, Queens County) in 1917 in Portland Maine. Minnie had two daughters, Sarah (Sadie) Jane & Afreda G. Sadie is my grandmother (living). According to my GM (when she was 12 years old) Minnie died of encephalitis in 1933 Several Aunts came down from Canada and wanted to adopt Sadie. But Sadie did not want to leave her older sister Alfreda. Therefore they stayed with their father. I have the marriage certificate which says Minnie's mother was Mary Mulkern, father as William Long. The puzzling thing is that all resources I find say that William was married to Jane (Graham?) I see in the 1901 Census that a whole group from NB were in Portland Maine, Emmerson Austin & the Parsons family. I know these families are connected somehow. My gm remembers Minnie's father was a "Sea Captain" If anyone know's anything about these names I would love some help. I do have the "Austin" tree and will share any information I have.
