The Harford County Maryland Census of 1800 kept in the Baltimore County MD Historical/Genealogy Society, c 1971 [ p.11] lists James Broom, free white male in under ten column, 1 free white male in the 26 to 45 column, 1 free white femaile in the 16 to 25 column and 1 free white female in the over 45 column.

In the Harford County Marriage Licenses for 1770 to 1865 [p.30] compiled by Jan Livezey and Helene Davis, Willow Bank Books of Westminster MD 2000: Marriage of James Broom and Anne Balding on 4 Feb 1803; E21, W32 following the entry probably give direction to court records.
