I am trying to locate my grandmother. I believe she was born Annie James in Birkenhead, Cheshire on December 26, 1913. Her parents may have been Catherine Ellen Hughes and Lloyd (or Henry) James.

I do know that Annie was raised in Rhode Island by Catherine and Edward John Sammon (b.Clevland, Ohio, USA) who married in Liverpool in January 1918. Annie immigrated with Catherine Sammon to the USA in April 1918. I have no early records on Annie and but I do know that by the time she was 12 she was going by the name of Nancy Monica Sammon. It wasn't until after her death that I was able to find any records indicating that Nancy was not her birth name and that Catherine and Edward were not her biological parents. My research indicates that Catherine Sammon may actually have been Annie's older sister.

Does anyone know anything about this Annie James or can perhaps point me in the right direction so that I research further?
