I am searching for a James MOODY b.c1808 or before, poss. in the Ballymoney or Balnamore area of Co. Antrim, Nor. Ireland OR poss. from somewhere in Co. L'derry, however I think Antrim is more likely. I have no idea who this James' wife was.
This James was listed as a weaver on his son John's marriage record. James son John MOODY b. 1835 was listed as being "of Balnamore" married Mary Ann LESLIE/Lesley (various spellings) who was also b. 1835 daughter of John LESLIE (a weaver), they married in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, NI.
This John MOODY and wife Mary Ann Leslie had several children...2 of which married into the HOGG family. One of these, a son also named John MOODY b.1857 married Mary HOGG and they had a daughter Ellen MOODY who married a Robert GETTY son of a James Getty whose father was Andrew Getty.
I am trying to determine if this James MOODY b.c1808 or before...possibly as early as b. c1790, was the son of Alexander MOODY and Priscilla DICK of Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland (Coleraine area) who also had sons John and Israel MOODY.
