My ggrandfather, Rev. J.W. Miller arrived in Clinton TN in 1849 and remained there until the beginning of the Civil War. I believe he was the pastor of First Baptist Church and according to his letters, he was in charge of an Academy or school that was attached tothe church. I'm trying to find out more about the school and anything else I can about J.W. Miller and his family. According to letters, he left the area with many neighbors and traveled to Kentucky to join the Civil War.
