My husband descends from these lines in Grainger County. His main line is the MOODY/GRAY line. His great grandfather was George Addison MOODY. George Addison MOODY was born 28 November 1873 at May Springs, Grainger County, Tennessee. He was the son of Woodson T. and Mary GRAY MOODY. George married Retta Jane GRAY (a first cousin once removed) 4 August 1900 at Cass County, Missouri. Retta Jane GRAY was a daughter of Patrick Henry GRAY and Julia Catherine CHAMBERLAIN. Woodson MOODY was born 6 March 1850 at Grainger County, Tennessee. He was a son of George S. and Mary GODWIN MOODY. Mary GRAY was born April 1853 at Grainger County, Tennessee. She was a daughter of John S. and Priscilla GARRETT GRAY. Patrick Henry GRAY was born 14 January 1860 at Grainger County, Tennessee. He was a son of Pleasant Jasper and Martha A. E. MCCARTY. Julia Catherine CHAMBERLAIN was born 25 May 1856 at Grainger County, Tennessee. She was a daughter of Jeremiah and Martha A. E. WIDOWS.
