I am looking for my gg-grandfather George Chace who came from Wales to America in the 1830's and moved to Greenwich Village. He worked as an engineer on tug boats in New York Harbor in the 1840's-1860's and had many children including my g-grandfather George Chace who was also born in the Village. I believe on LeRoy Street or Greenwich Avenue. George Jr. married Jane Hines ( a Canadian) and had my grandmother Mabel Chace in the Village who married Michael Doyle (an Irishman) and moved to New Jersey. That's all of the info that I have. If anyone recognizes any of these people as part of their family I would appreciate a shout or guidance on where to look for his home in Wales. Thanks.
