Searching for information on ancestor Laura Ann Sterns or Stearns or Starnes, born July 6, 1796 in Canajoharie, New York. She married Samuel Wells (he born February 10, 1793, Petersburg, Rensselaer County, New York. Some of her children were raised by their older siblings (especially Susan Isabelle Wells Maxson) indicating an early death or other problem for Laura Ann.
Her son, William Henry Wells, was my great-grandfather. He was born in Sidney, New York in 1828, and died in Dodge Center, Minnesota, but is buried in Friendship, New York.
