To all the Laynes and their descendants:

The Laynes of Alabama have a longstanding family reunion in Warrior, Alabama. I have never been, though my paternal grandmother was a Layne. My entire family (aunts, uncles, cousins of infinite variety) is planning to attend this year for the first time.

I have been running into some confusing names and dates in my research into the Layne ancestry, so it occurs to me that it would be very educational (and a lot of fun) to open the weekend up to the rest of the Laynes on Ancestry. I think we come from the John Layne/Barbara DeVault branch of the Layne tree, but there are additional names and dates that confuse me. But at the reunion, we will be in the presence of folks who know a lot of old stories, we can share photos and any archival information we have to try and get to the bottom of who we are and where we came from (and how on earth some of us ended up in Warrior, Alabama!).
