Can anyone tell me about Sarah Bain born 1815 NC died before 1880 married John H Shoffner 1817-1891 of Guilford, NC s/o David Shoffner + Mary Polly Plunkett? They were 1850 in Brown, Morgan, Indiana with children: Mary E 1840, Nancy 1842, Elizabeth 1844, David Albert 1850, Thomas 1851. And he John H is living after her death 1880 Des Moines, Iowa with widowed Mary E 1840 (husband Whit Atkinson dead) and her daughter Ora Atkinson.
I suspect she is the sister of Lorenzo Dow Bain b. 1810 Randolph, NC d. 1855 Green, Morgan, Indiana, who married Nancy Shoffner, John H's sister. That would make the Bains children of Magnus Bain 1772-1846 and Elizabeth Nicholson 1770-1853.
Can anyone confirm or refute this guess?
