Hi,
I am looking for the parents of John Sharkey.
John Sharkey was born in Ireland in 1806 and came to Louisiana, I
think in the 1830's, but I'm not sure.
I believe he was the John Sharkey I found on a 1840 cansus in LA.

He married Julie Zoe Rosseau in New Orleans, LA in 1841.
He had several children, including my ggrandmother Zoe Sharkey, who
married Joseph Carter.
They lived mostly in New Orleans and Amite, Louisiana.
He died in March 1862 at the age of 56. He was buried in the John Sharkey
Cemetery in Amite, Tangipahoa Parish, LA.
His mother might be Bridget Byrne, I found this on a query in the Sharkey
forum. And his father could be Patrick Sharkey but this is just a guess, no proof.
