My wife's ancestor is Alexander Gilpin whose death certificate lists his father as William Gilpin, b. in VA (abt 1800); and his mother as Sarah Dean, b. in MA or MD (abt 1810). They were married in Ohio and lived there until moving to Grant Co., IN about 1847. Known children are: John S. b. 1831, William b. 1834, Isaiah b. 1837, Alexander A. b. 1840, George W. b. 1841, Andrew J. b. 1843, Isaac G. b. 1845, Wilson S. b. 1848, Sarah b. 1852, and Harriet b. 1854. Birth dates are approximate. I would appreciate any info anyone has on this family.
