Is there a living male Brown "out there" who shows his ancestry back to James Brown and Elizabeth Poole who could/would take the Y chromosome DNA test via the Brown Genealogy Society DNA testing project? Some show that this James Brown was the known son of the older James Brown who married Elizabeth Baldwin, while some others show instead that this James Brown was the known son of the Henry Brown (born 1680s; lived in Middlesex Co., VA) who also married an Elizabeth. The later could be correct, since an apparent son of Henry Brown and Elizabeth named Garfield/Gaffield Brown was closely associated in Culpeper Co., VA with the Hezekiah Brown who was a known son of James and Elizabeth (Poole) Brown (Garfield/Gaffield Brown and the James Brown who married Elizabeth Poole were likely brothers).

The other James Brown who married Catherine Wood/Woods was perhaps the known son of James Brown and Elizabeth Baldwin, since a daughter of James and Elizabeth (Baldwin) Brown also married into that same Wood/Woods family.
