I am trying to find out about my ggrandfather, Brice A. Edmonds. Brice moved to Marshall County, Alabama around 1848 along with his wife Chilnessa and nine children. What I can find is a GEORGE EDMONDS who apparently was give a land grant after the war of 1812 in Jefferson County. He was listed in the 1822 tax list under Captain Lawrence's company. He appears on the 1830 Census for Jefferson County and in 1840 Brice A. Edmonds appears under 30 with his wife under 40, four males under 10 and one female under 10. My grandmother told us Chilnessa was a full-blooded Cherokee Indian. We have a tin picture supposedly of her and the woman appears to be of Indian origin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
