I have just found I am descended from a James Budd and his wife Joanna, marriedin Devon, I presume since they had two children, James baptised on 21 Jul 1782 at Princes Street Independent Devonport Devon England. and Joanna baptised Morrices Square Independent Plymouth Dock, Devon England on 25 Dec 1791. Joanna married Thomas Mainwaring in Stoke Damerel on 15th Dec 1816. Has anyone any link to this family, and can someone fill me in on life in the Plymouth area at that time. I assume that "Independent" means Methodist. Am I correct?
