In 1797 a James Ingraham and a James Ingraham, Jr. petitioned for land on the Oromocto River.

John Flewwelling, shortly before he died, co-signed the marriage bond (20JAN1816) of Benjamin Fletcher (ca. 1791-7AUG1878, an early organizer and deacon of the Baptist Church in New Brunswick) of St. Mary's Parish, York Co., NB and of Rebecca Ingraham (ca. 1796-27JUL1883), of Maugerville, Sunbury Co., NB (married 25JAN1816).

John Flewwelling's widow, Eunice Palmer ((b. 1JUN1786, probably in Maugerville or Sheffield, Sunbury Co., NB, d. 5DEC1853 age 78 years, buried Centennial United Church Cemetery, Nashwaak Village, York Co., NB, daughter of Nathan and Hannah (Fletcher) Palmer), m. 2nd James Ingraham (b. NB ca. 1789).

In the 1851 census, near each other, were:

Ingraham Charles M Husband 52 Native Labourer
Ingraham Sarah F Wife 38 Native
Ingraham John M Son 12 Native
Ingraham Mary F Daughter 7 Native

Ingraham James M Husband 62 Native Farmer
Ingraham Eunice F Wife 64 Native

Fletcher Benjamin M Husband 59 Native Farmer
Fletcher Rebekah F Wife 54 Native
Fletcher Leonard M Son 27 Native Labourer
Fletcher George M Son 25 Native Labourer
Fletcher Alfred M Son 21 Native Labourer
Fletcher Levina F Daughter 23 Native

It seems to me that:

James Ingraham b. ca. 1789, d. ca. 1855?
Charles Ingraham b. ca. 1792
Rebecca Ingraham b. 1796-27JUL1883

were siblings and children of one of the James Ingraham's of 1797. I see no reason to associate these with Sgt. Benjamin Ingraham and his brother, Abijah, Loyalists who settled in Queensbury Parish, York Co., NB up the River Saint John the other side of Fredericton.

Is there any other indication of an Ingraham family in Sunbury Co. or St. Mary's Parish in early New Brunswick?

Thomas.
