Nowell - From England to New England

Hello all,
I'm researching my wife's family. Her great-grandfather immigrated to the U.S. with his family when he was around 6 years old from the U.K. His name was Fred Clifford Nowell and he was born in 1904 in Lancashire. I am unsure when his father came over but Fred crossed with his mother (Emily), elder sister (Bertha), and brother (Leslie Richard) on the Celtic and put in to Peterson, New Jersey. The family quickly ended up in New London, Connecticut area. Along with Fred's older siblings who were born in England and immigrated, there were two other siblings born in America, Annie and Hilda. I'm am unsure when Bertha or Annie died but Leslie died in 1990 and Hilda died in 1930.

It is actually his father, Richard, and his family that I have more questions about. I know his name, and have a general birth year (1872). The family seems to have lived in Lancashire, specifically Rawtenstall but there are some indications that Richard might have been born in Greater Manchester. Richard married Emily Coope and census records show them living near her family. I was wondering if there was someone out there who might know, though, who Richard's family was so that I could trace his family back further, whether they are English connections or descendants of Fred's siblings who may have done further study in family history.

Thanks for any help!
