My grandfather, Josef Sitarz, came to the U.S. in the early 1900s from Rudnik, Poland. He settled in Boston, Massachusetts and later changed his name to Joseph Letasz. He married Katarzyna (Catherine) Kicielinski (Kicilinski) from Folusz, Poland. His mother's maiden name was Miciak. His sister, Sadie, also came to America, as did her daughter, Emelia. My grandfather worked as a rattan/wicker/reed furniture maker--a craft he learned in Poland.
