Hi,

I have found my 3rd great grandfather, Celestin Feis, in the US and Canada, Passenger and Immigration Lists Index 1500's - 1900's. It says he arrived in 1848 at New York. I have searched the New York database for ships coming in during that year as well as before and after and there is no record of him. I may have just missed him but I've looked several times and different spellings and nothing seems to match.

I would like to be able to trace him back to Baden, Germany where he was born but I need to find the name of the ship so I can follow him back to where he came from.

Is there anyone here who can help me locate the ship he came in on?
