The known history of my grandfather (Evangelista Lorusso) and his 3 brothers are listed below. His brother Francesco was the second oldest male child, but I only found out that he existed just a little while ago. The other brothers all served in the military for Italy during WW1 and I have their military records in great detail (yet cannot remember how I got them - probably someone on this site). It would seem that Francesco Lorusso was the right age to also have been drafted into the Italian military. Can anyone utilize the information below to find out if he did? Of course, if you also find about whether any of these brothers had children, that would be an added plus.
My grandfather, Evangelista Lorusso, (born in 1900) who emigrated to America, was the youngest of 4 brothers born in Altamura, Bari, Italy. The brothers lived and died in Italy. I would like to find their children and grandchildren:
1. The oldest was Domenico Lorusso, born August 10, 1886, wounded in WW1, and married to Anna Nuzzolese on September 14, 1912. Later married to Laura Maglionico on December 29, 1928.
2. Next was Francesco Lorusso, born on May 22,1891 and married to Grazia Clemente on October 7, 1916.
3. Last was Vito Lorusso, born on May 10, 1895, also wounded in WW1, married to Antonia Ostuni on March 26, 1918. He died on April 17, 1969 in Altamura.
Their parents were Michele Lorusso (1858-1905) and Teresa Ninivaggi (1858-1920) who married on October 11, 1884. They also had two daughters who died as young children.
Can anyone find the military records for Francesco Lorusso? Is there a good website for finding Italian military records?
