My interest in my family history was sparked by my great grandfather's birth record when we discovered that his mother had been married before. It came as quite a surprise to my family. Over time, I discovered that Elizabeth Holmes had married John Farrell in the Strokestown area in 1856 and had 2 children Mary (1857) and Patrick (1858). She married my great great grandfather in 1861. I haven't been able to find a death record for John Farrell.

I traced Patrick Farrell to Providence, Rhode Island, where he died in 1931. He married Mary Winn in 1894 in Providence and I found 2 children - John Thomas (1895) and Mary (1899). I don't know what happened to these people either.

I'm curious to know if my great grandfather had anymore half siblings and what happened to his half-sister Mary. She may have died in early childhood, but I haven't been able to find a death registration for her. Is anyone else researching these Farrell's?
