Hello, Im doing a genealogy research on various lines of our family history, and would like to find out if there are any records in Suwalki, civil, jewish, or even christian records, as jewish families often had to register in both places for good measure... concerning Abram Nathan Kransdorf (1844-1923)who married in Suwalki, russian Poland, 14 sept 1844, Anna Sara Kuchinsky (1848-1914). They had at least one child, Henrietta born 13 aug 1867.
Are there civil & surviving Jewish archives there? can they be consulted by email or snailmail? Might there be surviving Kranzdorfs (or spelling variants) in the area today, perhaps in the phonebook, if someone would be kind enough to look?
Perhaps there are also school records old enough to help, as he was a private teach of jewish religion & hebrew, for curious christians & jews. Abram was first recorded in the christian community for his teachings in 8 march 1894, and died in 1923...
I'd very much like to find anything possible, about him & his wife, their parents & ancestors, their origins, and any additional children to Henriette, born 1867 & married to Leif Levin, of Kristiana/Oslo, Norway.
Thanks,
Annie
