Jacob Lesher married to Esther Heffner. Children were Jacob, Kate, Abraham, Hettie, Benneville, Betsy, Solomon, Fayette, Isaac and William.
Abraham Lesher lived in Perry Township. He was a very wealthy man who was in partnership with the hunters, iron masters at Molelem, whom he served as surety. He lost about $40,000.00 to them, this preyed on his mind until he committed suicide by shooting himself. There is an Abraham listed as being married to a Rachael Fegely. Children were: Abraham K. - Jonas of Lebanon County - Mrs. Diana Motes of Richmond Township - Mrs. Kneer of Lehigh County - Mrs. Kemp whose family moved to the west.
John Lesher b. 1-5-1711 d. 4-5-1794. Some records have him emigrating to America with his Father in 1726, others say 1734.They settled in Upper Bucks County PA and n 1734 moved to Oley Twp. (Maxatawny Creek)near Oley Church. He secured a tract of 480 acres on 3-28-1739 which covered much of Amity Twp. He was 28 years old when he bought this land.
Nicholas Lesher first settled in Oley Valley in 1726. Various spellings of Lesher are Lescher, Le Cher, Le Suerer and Leasure, and became fixed as Lesher in America. Nicholas was born in Switzerland in 1667. He died in Oley Valley on 1-30-1750, age 83 years. He married Johannada Drehar, daugher of Christian Drehar. He emigrated to America with his wife and 4 children (2 sons and 2 daughters). His wife died 3-1-1744 age 72 years. Nicholas was survived by his sons, John, born either in Holland or Germany. There are no records of the other 3 children.
John Lesher b. 1763 d. 1804. He is believed to be buried in a cemetery in Virginville, PA. He was born in Oley Twp. This is the John Lesher who accompanied Ben Franklin to England and France. He had a son Jacob. John was a farmer and the proprieter of Lesher's Mill in Greenwich Township.
Jacob, the secons son of Col. John Lesher became the pricipal heir and successor of Oley Hills, now Pike, Hereford district townships, later extended into Longswamp. He stocked some wild parts with game which became known as Lesher's Hunting Place. Jacob married Catherine Lieberguth on 12-18-1787. They had 4 children John d.1793, Anna b..11-30-1791. Anna married Reuben Trexler. Elizabeth b.11-27-1793. Elizabeth married George Van Buskirk. Catherine b. 3-6-1797. Catherine married Samuel Strunk.
Margaret, the daughter of Col. John Lesher married John Pott of Pottsville, PA.. Catherine the daughter of John married John Deischer of Oley. Anna Barbara, daughter of John married George Focht.
