I have the spelling of Christina's last name three different ways:Schaeffer, Schaffer, and Scheffer. She was born on Feb. 9, 1849 in Kessel, Hessen, Germany. She was married to Friedrich Franz August Knauf and came to America where she died in Oklahoma. Her birth record in not recorded in the public records but it has been suggested that it might be at the Lutheren Church.
