"Charles HUDSON of St. Paul's Parish in Hanover County being weak in body but of sound and perfect memory 19 day of April 174 and five lend to my daughter Mary WINGFIELD my plantation in Goochland County known by the name of Prospect, containing 540 acres of land by patten: & the stock of cattle is on the same during her natural life and after her decease I give the said land to her son Charles WINGFIELD with this exception only; that if ever there should be any valuable mines opened on the said land that then my three sons: Guilelmus, John & Christopher HUDSON shall have a full and equal part of said mines with said Charles WINGFIELD. John WINGFIELD husband of said daughter Mary WINGFIELD 25 pounds to pay William HILL for land.

Item: I lend to my daughter Elizabeth JOHNSON the plantation whereon she now is living on the east side of Mechumps Creek in Hanover County containing 207 acres to be the same more or less that I purchased of William HUDSON and Alexander COCK; as the records of New Kent and Hanover Counties will make appear; also negroes, etc. for her natural life then said plantation to go to my grandson Thomas JOHNSON. I also give the said negro woman and her son peter and her increase to my grandaughter Mary JOHNSON with 200 acres of land on the head of Fosters Creek in Louisa County and Amelia County adjoining the land I gave to her sister Sarah HOLLAND it being part of a larger tract of land. Also a horse and saddle. Also I give to my daughter Ann 30 sh. of currency money of Virginia all of which I give to her when she shall arrive to lawful age or married.

Item: I give to Cornelius DABNEY 300 acres of land situated and lying on Stag Creek in Hanover County being the plantation whereon his son William DABNEY now lives being part of 850 acres by Patten the said land being measured and layed off some years past which said land I give to Cornelius DABNEY and his heirs forever.

Item: I lend to my son Gulielmas HUDSON 2000 acres of land on Hudson creek in Louisa County & labour of 8 negroes at his death to this children & for want of such children to the children of his brothers. Note the above land I alot for the male children & I also give to son Gulielmas stock etc. on sd plantation on Hudson Cr. all of which he hath now in his possession... I also give to my sd son my plantation on the south side of Hardware River in Albemarle County with 800 acres of land being part of 2000 acres by Patten; the other part I sold to John CARTER Esquire. Also other negroes which he hath now in his possession but not at his disposal til he shall to lawful age. Also cattle, also 8 pounds cur. money... also goods, pewter, silver, chares etc. all of which he hath in his possession, etc.

Item: I lend to my son Christopher Hudson 800 acres of land lying in Amelia County that I purchased of David LISLES and Michael McKEARMAN as the records of sd County will make more fully clear. I lend 6 negroes at his decease to his children or for want of such children then I give ye said land & negroes to his two brothers' children, etc. I also give to sd son Christopher 800 acres I purchased of John DABNEY in Amelia County as record of sd County will show. Also stock, etc. The 1000 acres I hold on Vaughans Creek to be sold & money div. amongst daughters children... stock to son Christopher HUDSON.

I lend to Elizabeth JENNINGS the plantation I purchased of John WADSON cont. 100 acres lying on Mechumps Creek in Hanover County I also lend to said JENNINGS labour of 2 negro women during the sd JENNINGS natural life after her decease land & negroes to her children except one negro which I give to my grandau. Rebek. WINGFIELD; the rest of the negroes I give to sd JENNINGS ch. and their heirs forever & sd land but in case sd JENNINGS should depart this life & leave no children then sd land to my son John HUDSON & negroes to my dau. Mary WINGFIELD's children.

I also give to sd JENNINGS one sorrel horse called .... & one cow & calfe & one feather bed rugs & blanket & pr sheets but the sd JENNINGS is not to bring any charge against my estate on forfeiting what I have above given her. I also desire ye sd JENNINGS if she desires it may have the chamber & back room adjoining thereto till my dau. Ann arrives to ye age of eighteen years or marries & to be provided with provisions & lodging & other conveniences suitable there to all of which is to be settled & delivered to the sd JENNINGS by my ex.

I give to my son John HUDSON 200 acres part of 400 acres on the head of Fosters Creek in Louisa County by Patten; This land I allot for the reception of tob. & other things transported to and from ye plantation on Hardware River in Albemarle Co. I give to my son forever.

I give to my son Christopher.... as to what new goods mabe in the houses at my Deth I desire they may be made use of for the cloathing of my three younger children and their negroes etc. Younger children to be kept at school until they have obtained a sufficient learning & to my two younger sons to be confined to same calling whereby they may be able to get a livlyhood. Additional negroes to son Christopher.

Capt. DARRACOTT and 2 sons in law John WINGFIELD and Robert WARTHEN to be exect. Testator was ex. with Mr. John SNELSON in will of Mr. Thomas PARTRIDGE dec'd. Mr. Bartlet ANDERSON & Mr. Robert JENNINGS to be overseers or trustees to see that this my will be complyed with. They to receive a gold ring of 20 shillings sterling apiece and anything more that may be thought reasonable.

Item: I have mentioned every child's part of my estate & that it lyeth in several counties & at a great distance. I advise it may not be appr. etc.
