In a family get-together yesterday, my brother's webbed toe (where one toe is "stuck" to its neighbor) was brought up. My mother says that this is supposedly inherited and that it goes back to our Pennsylvania ancestors.

So, does anyone know if (a) this really is an inheritted trait or just a random birth defect, and (b) does it run in any of your Indiana County family lines?
