Thomson Clan Reunion

All descendents of Gavin and Jean/Jane Thomson are invited to a first ever reunion.
Their children...
Margaret married to William Hogg
Agnes Brownlie married to Alexander Dempster
Mary Mitchel married to Matthew Lamont
Thomas married to Mary Ellen Fackler
Susan M. married to John Colter Garvin
Isabelle Dixon married to Henry Harrison Fackler
Andrew Minto married to Nancy Emily Boham
Anna Portis married to William Wallace Creamer
Jeannette married to Joseph Spurgin
William (do not have a record as to him marrying)


Purpose: to get to know other family members we’ve never met, to renew family ties, and perhaps learn a little more of the family history. Gavin & Jean were born, married, and started their family in Scotland. They then came to Canada and on down to Mills County Iowa where they are buried.
You may have their last name spelled Thomson or Thompson

Date of reunion: June 17, 2006

Location: East Liberty Church, Mills County, IA, across the road from the East Liberty Cemetery where they are buried.

Directions: Go north of Malvern and Hwy 34 on 315th St. then west on Hutchings Ave. (This is a rural country church in Silver Creek Township.MIlls County, Iowa). You can also go to the following web site, www.randmcnally.com , access the driving directions, enter FROM (home) address and TO (East Liberty) address which is 30718 Hutchings Avenue Malvern Iowa.

Time: 9:00am till ??

Cost: $15.00/person (children under 5 are free). Cost includes noon meal, rental of church, and miscellaneous costs.

Registration Deadline: June 1, 2006

Introduction of those present

More visiting and sharing of information
Visit the cemetery where several family members are buried including Gavin and Jane

Copies of letters, birth/death certificates, family bibles, diaries, any genealogy information others might be interested in
Perhaps you have that missing piece of family history the others have been looking for
